The Alternative Florist: 

Jo Walls, owner of The Alternative Florsit, is a seasoned felt florist with two decades of teaching experience. Jo is dedicated to bringing the joy of crafting to individuals of all ages. With a passion for guiding others through the art of felt, Jo has become a trusted mentor, creating a welcoming space where people can unwind, ignite their creativity, and cultivate a sense of accomplishment.

In her 20 years of teaching (secondary and primary), Jo has honed her skills as a patient and encouraging instructor. Her workshops go beyond the technicalities of crafting; they provide a supportive environment where participants can not only learn the craft but also feel good about themselves throughout the process. She understands the power of creativity to uplift and inspire, and she is committed to helping each individual discover their unique artistic voice

Polefield Creative Workshops: Jane and Michele. 

Michele, a keen crafter,  originally born in Rossendale moved to work as a nurse in London for 36 years before returning to the Valley - Polefield Cottage. Whilst nursing she saw the power of mindful activities for children, their families and herself especially during stressful times. 

Jane has worked in Arts Education for over 30 years teaching a variety of crafts including painting, printmaking, ceramics, fashion and textile design. As a trained textile designer, she has worked with several high street stores designing surface pattern as well as designing illustrations for children's publications with the BBC.  Mindfulness and mental health wellbeing is an important part of her life and crafts play a huge part in that.
